Looking for other kinds of place — barber shops, pharmacies, laundries — is a paid search of the area, priced like a restaurant search (often cheaper, because most kinds are sparser than restaurants). Those results are kept apart: they never enter your restaurant list, the master list, Near me or the overnight crawl.
Everything below the search box — the Meals / Cafés / Everything switch, filters, sorting, the dish finder, the map — only rearranges what's already here. None of it makes a call.
Your Google API key is not in this page. It lives on the server as a Cloudflare secret, and every lookup goes through your Worker, so the key is never sent to a browser. The URL is protected by a passphrase, and the Worker enforces a daily call cap and a hard monthly spend ceiling.
